CDL CLASS B DRIVER – HOME DAILY

Community Harvest Food Bank seeks to find a qualified CDL Class B driver to deliver and pick up food donations within Allen County and surrounding areas for distribution through our many programs focused on ending hunger in Northeast Indiana.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operate and drive various types of trucks, including roll off trucks, dump trucks, and delivery trucks
• Safely load and unload heavy equipment and materials using forklifts or other appropriate machinery
• Follow assigned routes and schedules for efficient and timely delivery of goods
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle
• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
• Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery logistics
• Ensure the proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transportation
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on trucks as needed

EXPERIENCE:
• Valid Indiana Class B CDL license, automobile insurance, with a clean driving record
• Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as roll off trucks, dump trucks, or forklifts
• Familiarity with route driving and navigating using GPS systems or maps
• Ability to safely load and unload materials using appropriate machinery
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
• Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members
