TRUCK DRIVER- FULL TIME
Reports to: TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR
Hours: Monday through Friday: 7:30am – 4pm
Starting Pay: $18/hr
Community Harvest Food Bank seeks to find a qualified Truck Driver to deliver and pick up food donations within Allen County and surrounding areas for distribution through our many programs focused on ending hunger in Northeast Indiana.
Responsibilities:
– Operate and drive various types of trucks, including delivery trucks
– Safely load and unload heavy equipment and materials using forklifts or other appropriate machinery
– Follow assigned routes and schedules for efficient and timely delivery of goods
– Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle
– Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving
– Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
– Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery logistics
– Ensure the proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transportation
– Perform basic maintenance tasks on trucks as needed
Experience:
– Valid Indiana For Hire license, automobile insurance, with a clean driving record
– Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
– Familiarity with route driving and navigating using GPS systems or maps
– Ability to safely load and unload materials using appropriate machinery
– Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
– Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
– Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members
